Margot Merah is a folksinger and songwriter from the Netherlands. For the past 20 years she has toured all over the world; Europe, Australia, USA, Canada and Japan
Telling stories is what the folk tradition is all about and it is what Margot loves to do. Tales about life, simple and small with an eye for detail as well as the bigger picture. Margot's music is comforting, hopeful and melancholic. Acoustic folk songs that at one time remind you of rural Ireland and other times transports you to the New York folk scene of the early sixties.
Margot is part of the female folkduo The Lasses with Sophie Janna and loves to sing and play at sessions. She can often be found singing in Irish Music Bar Mulligans in Amsterdam.
